MUMUSCHOOL is an acronym of museum, music and school.
I.Purpose
Why do we want to discover remains of the past and preserve them? Such remains are not simple materials but humans’ peculiar lifestyles and their products. MUMUSCHOOL gives culture and arts education to put together all cultures and classes by making use of remains which are not only evidences of human history but marks of human culture as educational tools. As all cultures and sciences are rooted in nature, culture & arts constructs the most basic and expansive realm which is not specific to one realm. Accordingly, in such sense, MUMUSCHOOL would like to pursue culture and arts education to let all people enjoy on the basis of anthropology, archeology and naturalism. It was the human’s intellect and sensitivity which have played an important role in human life ever since the origin of mankind. In particular, the sensitivity made the human do creative and willful activities which are differentiated from animals. To communicate with other objects and express our own thoughts and feelings, the human has created and tried to find various ways of art expression such as wall painting, dancing, singing, playing musical instruments and so no. Such ways are related to cultural backgrounds and also filled with natural environments and lifestyles of the day, as well as artists’ thoughts and emotions. However, today the art, in fact, degraded to exclusive domains to be enjoyed by a small number of selected and then was at a standstill. Accordingly, MUMUSCHOOL would like to show a new direction for arts education, free from fragmentary ways of arts education which end in momentary experiences, and supply fields of arts to let people feel sympathy for it more easily and enjoy it.
